Throughout this semester I have learned about and participated in discussions and activities involving professional learning and program evaluation. By completing the Current Reality/ GAPSS assignment I realized the areas we could grow in as a school and the things I can do to assist as well. One area that could use improvement is having a follow-up plan for professional learning. To assist in this area, I will create follow-up emails, Google Forms and in-person contacts so that if the teacher needs any further instruction or help, I will provide it. By modeling and sharing this with other professional learning instructors I will assist in improving this area of need. Another necessary ideal that will be used often in my future workshops is having an online component. This is especially helpful for workshop participants to refer back to for notes, etc. and to get in contact with me easily. I will be changing my One Hour Workshop site to a Technology Workshops site that will hold many sessions, instead of creating a new site for each workshop. Some of the components that will now become a regular part of my coaching career are online components with instructional videos, handouts, evaluation forms, and follow-up contact information.
One area that I will be working on improving is time management. Allowing myself adequate time for coaching, follow-up, and staying current on school assignments and grading, would help me tremendously. My goal is to make lists and “chunk” them into more manageable bites so that it is not as overwhelming and I can complete things easier.
